it's a fun game, i wish there was a shortcut button for starting the next run/ending current one and going to the shop though :>
After playing more I completely agree, potentially right click to end the run would be good (so it stays confined to mouse controls if possible)
the button sound is literally the beatboxing WD Gaster meme.
haha, I definitely hear that now (and cant unhear it either)
That was a very fun game to play. a bit slow in the beginning, but ramps up quite nicely and satisfyingly once you start getting the doubling upgrades.
One small nitpick though, I think the game would look 200% better if the UI, especially the energy & water UI when you're playing as the root, be transparent instead of fully opaque.
In the beginning where you have to manage your energy more carefully, the large UI is blocking a decent chunk of the bottom right corner of the screen, meaning you won't know whether it's worth it to go down there to get the water you saw as the screen is scrolling upward or not. making it transparent (or semi-transparent) would help a lot on planning ahead and see if the water is worth the energy or not.
It's not so important in the late game where water is everywhere and you don't need to worry as much with your energy, but I thought I point it out since there were moments in my playthrough where I go down the middle and saw there's a good chuck of water to the right that I didn't see.
Thank you for playing and also thank you for giving us this feedback (we appreciate criticism)!
I completely agree that making the UI either transparent or only come out when you hover over it etc would definitely improve the gameplay loop. While we do technically allow for the player to use the scroll wheel to move around the area this wasn't explained in the tutorial and is our bad.
Ah, yeah if I had known that you could scroll in the rooting part of the game that would've been a huge help XD
At least I know now though :D
so nice! very well developed, the loop is addictive, the art and sfx are awesome too
Thank you! We had a lot of fun making those sfx and art.
This is such a fun game! It was easy to familiarize myself with the mechanics and get into the flow of things. The sound design is really good and it made the experience even more fun. Getting lots of water in a chain and watching the leaves on my tree grow was really satisfying. Great work!
Thanks! We really tried making this as satisfying as possible to grow your tree, and its good to see we did a good job!
very simple game, a bit annoying at the start, but picks up nicely later on.
Thanks! The start could have been a bit faster, but good that you enjoyed anyways!
maybe make the first upgrades +2 instead of +1?
Good idea, that would definitely have worked, I also if I revisit it would incentivize going deeper more as the game currently allows for you to stay at the top a bunch.
eventually you can just grab every single water on the map..
This was SOOO fun and i loved all of the audio related things going on from the music to the silly sfx!!
Thanks! We loved making those sfx (Specifically the hover and click button sound)
